Since 2020, Agnico Eagle has proudly supported the Recreation and Parks Association of Nunavut (RPAN) with an annual donation of $30,000. This partnership underscores our commitment to fostering youth development and promoting recreation in Nunavut’s communities.

RPAN plays a vital role in encouraging healthy, active lifestyles through recreational programs across the territory. In 2024-2025, our contribution helped RPAN implement a series of impactful initiatives: Summer Day Camps, Winter After-School Programs, and a Winter Camp Week in February. These programs, delivered by youth leaders, reach communities across the Kivalliq and Kitikmeot regions.

The numbers speak for themselves. In 2024, 11 communities hosted 12 Summer Day Camps, while 7 communities participated in the Winter Youth Program. Looking ahead, 12 communities are expected to join the Winter Program in 2025. In total, 1,689 children and youth, aged 5 to 12, engaged in these programs, led by 102 youth leaders aged 16 to 29, with an average age of 19.

Beyond the numbers, the impact on youth is profound. These programs build leadership skills, boost self-esteem, and provide invaluable casual employment opportunities. Youth leaders also receive training and certifications, equipping them with lifelong skills while fostering creativity and physical activity among participants.

Agnico Eagle is honored to support RPAN’s mission, knowing that together, we are helping shape future leaders and strengthen communities across Nunavut.
