Agnico Eagle is proud to support local Kivalliq and Inuit businesses. According to our Sustainable Development Policy and our Inuit Impact Benefit Agreements, Agnico Eagle aims to contribute to sustainable economic development to benefit the greatest number of Inuit. We do this by supporting business development with workshops, assistance and entrepreneurial training to facilitate the access of Inuit Firms to business opportunities on our Nunavut Projects.

Financial Support

Grant/contribution is a transfer payment for eligible businesses to cover expansion or start-up costs, including training, marketing, and purchase of equipment and materials with no expected repayment. These payments are usually conditional on performance or achievement and are subject to audit or other reporting requirements.

A loan is an amount of money to assist new business start-ups or expand an existing business that requires a future repayment with or without interest (with exceptional cases of non-repayment).

Equity investment refers to a financial transaction in which the investor provides funds in return for ownership (equity) in the organization.

Business Support

The training program is a series of training courses in specific business and professional skills.

Business support and skills developments are services and tools such as mentorship, coaching, workshops, and support to help grow your business and build capacity.
